In the Atelier: Painting with Plants
The Reggio Emilia philosophy encourages children to utilize everyday items as potential art and building materials. With this idea in mind, you can easily find these items in every kitchen! Spices and herbs deliver a colorful punch while doubling as an aromatic experience for our young artists!

Tips on Painting with Plants:
-Present the dried herbs and spices and ask the child to smell, touch and taste the material
-Ask them questions about it. What does it smell like? What do you think it is? Have you smelled it before? What color is it?
-Allow the child to stir in the water and mix the paint, to build fine motor skills.
